“And when My slaves ask you concerning Me, I am indeed near to them. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when He calls upon Me. So let them obey Me and believe in Me so that they may be led aright.” (Surah al-Baqarah : 186)
All praises be to Allah who is al-Mujib, the Answerer. He is the One who answers those who supplicate to Him. He is the One who answerers, in a general sense, those who supplicate to Him whoever they may be, wherever they may be and whatever condition they may be in, as He has promised. He is the One who answers, in a specific sense, those who love Him and follow His Shari’ah. He is also the One who answers those in dire need, who have given up all hope of being answered by the creation. This is because their connection with Him is strengthened in terms of their love, hope and fear of Him. We can see from this that when we are tested and we feel that we have no-one left to turn to, this is actually a blessing from Allah because it assists us in turning to Him and reminds us of our complete and utter dependence on Him. He is al-Mujib, the One who answers those who call on Him, so let’s ask Him alone for all of our needs.
